Our rose water is distilled from fresh Damask rose petals and steam, nothing else. A little goes a long way.
- White coffee (ahweh bayda). A teaspoon in a cup of hot water with a touch of honey. The after-dinner drink of every Lebanese grandmother.
- Rice. Half a teaspoon in the water when cooking rice for a mild floral note; classic under a lamb or chicken stew.
- Fruit salad. Strawberries, watermelon or oranges with a few drops of rose water and a pinch of sugar, left for ten minutes.
- Skin toner. Pour some into a spray bottle and keep it in the fridge. Cooling on summer skin, soothing on redness.
- Pancakes and cakes. Replace a tablespoon of the milk with rose water, and top with pistachios.
Keep the bottle closed and away from light; it keeps for a year.
